Getting through the summer!

Tue Jul 7, 2009, 6:54 PM
Uwaaaah~!
Summer camp is in full full full swing now! Wow... and the fourth of July break is coming up right after that dreadful, super duper scary obstacle known as... *Dun dun duuuun* Troop camp.
After that, there's a short break and then we hit the ground running again! I hope that I'll get into a hiking unit, but I won't know until the decisions are posted! Oh well..

EDIT
Yes! Woo hoo! I'm in a hiking unit! Yay! A hike a day!
On Tuesday and Wednesday I'll be online between 7-9 pm, on Thursday I'll be on between 6-8 pm (Mountain time).
This shall be most entertaining...

Edit again...
Pom poms don't make good trail markers in deep grass, just a note for the future! We got ever so slightly lost. Only slightly. And we weren't that lost, the road was still in sight. In fact, if we'd stayed on the road, we could have walked the twenty feet in a minute or less and waited for nineteen minutes. On the other hand, taking the trail was interesting! We discovered that there aren't any bridges across the stream left (there was a fallen tree but, the pokey branches kinda kept us from using that) and we were all eaten by mosquitoes!
...I know it sounds a little miserable, but it's actually a lot of fun. It really is. And the girls were great about it, they thought it was pretty funny when we clambered back on the road after stumbling through marshy stuff, turned, and saw the place we'd started off from. Loop trail anyone?
On the downside, we've gotten into the severe thunderstorms in the afternoon weather pattern, which is a bummer since most of our hikes are scheduled in the afternoon! Ah, oh well...

  • Mood: Astonished
  • Listening to: Thunder from lightning hitting the flagpole
  • Watching: Chaos and that sort of stuff. Ah ha ha ha!
  • Eating: ...I wish it was sushi...
  • Drinking: Water, lots and lots and lots and lots of water
