I'm running off to the desert to band birds!
It isn't the jungle, but it'll be nice and quiet and lovely...

I'm super excited to go handle some more birds... this afternoon a juvenile robin managed to get stuck inside the netting up in the garden to keep the squirrels out, but it wasn't stuck badly, if they'd just lifted the net so he could pull his head back and out there wouldn't have been any problems.  I hope that all the birds I get to catch will be a-okay!

Whu- thu-?

Dishwasher?
Washing machine?  DRYER?!
Fast internet!
English? (oh geez, that's going to be a tough one to get used to again...)
Light!  At night!  It's almost 8 pm!  Why is there light outside?  (latitude!?)
...no roosters.  Hm.  Okay.  Same for the mozzies, that's an okay deal there...

CARS!  AUGH, SO MANY CARS~!  AND THEY'RE PARKED ON THE STREET!

Hot water.  From, like, the sink.  Hot water.  It's, like, hot water-y.  Coming from the sink.
No place to hang my hammock or put up my mosquito net.
No cheap papaya or mango or guanabana or guaba or pineapple or little bananas or maracuya...
So.  Much.  STUFF.  I don't need this stuff.  It's all just... stuff.  I can live with 35-40 pounds of personal belongings (toiletries included) for months.  What is this... STUFF?  When did I ever have this much STUFF?

...can I go back to the jungle now?

I'm really not producing art that actively for dA anymore (that isn't to say that I won't, it's to say that I'm an awfully lazy bum and I haven't been!)....  -_-;;;;  I've been doodling a comic for myself, but not much worth posting.
Life has been going along.  I lost my paternal grandfather before Christmas, I still grieve.  I visited my maternal grandparents, they, too, have aged.  I'm going to Costa Rica to chase birds around, that's my dream job for right now.  I've been studying for the GRE with a dear friend I've known since kindergarten, one day we shall run a field station to train linguists and biologists in a cloud forest (XD).  I've been drawing a comic of a story that has been lodged in my head for a good long while, maybe someday I won't be so bashful and I'll post it somewhere on the internet... I'm not sure.
So.
Life.
It goes on and all I can strive to do is be sure that I am living life as joyfully as I can.

I had fun chasing birds in the Madre de Dios region.  I want to go back.  It's too dang cold here!

I don't know if I should post any of the doodles I doodled, most of them are very sketchy and just to keep me from being bored during one of the two SIX HOUR LAYOVERS!  AAAAAUGH.... six hours in an airport is hellish.  I exhausted the entertainment potential of the moving sidewalk before I even reached Peru.  It was awful.

Because I'm running around the Amazon jungle until then.  Chasing birds.
